So we lived lavishly our first few days in Thailand, and now it was time for us to buck up and stay in a hostel. I've stayed in hostels in Ireland, Australia and now Thailand and if you love to travel but don't want to spend loads of money on a hotel, this is the way to go - especially if you're young and don't have any kids with you.
I back hostels up 100% because it allows you to focus on more activities to tackle outside of your hotel/ resort, spend under $50/ night (we spent $8 a night here!) and you meet so many people from all around the world. If you're lucky, you find friendships that stay with you forever.
After we check in, we don't waste any time. We grab a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant (the food in Krabi is not nearly as good as it is in Bangkok - frankly, it doesn't even come close) and then head out to Railay Beach which is about 10 minutes away via long-tail boat. Many people flock to Railay to rock climb, but we simply enjoyed just lounging on the beach. Can't go wrong with that!
After we enjoy the beauty of Railay's beaches, we head back to Krabi for what becomes the first of many massages during our stay.
